The Royal Manor of Portland gave a hearty welcome to Her Majesty and HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, on 11 June 2009. They looked around the impressive new Weymouth & Portland National Sailing Academy at Osprey Quay, Portland - the venue for the 2012 Olympic Games sailing events. Beautiful sunshine, and cheered on by hundreds of flag-waving local school children. They chatted to past and aspiring Olympian sailors, at the " finest sailing waters in the world".At the brand new Portland Marina, the royal couple then boarded a luxurious Sunseeker Predator motor yacht and set sail across Portland Harbour for Weymouth. Appropriately - the famous Sunseeker -as featured in 4 James Bond movies - is actually built at here Portland, and at Poole, Dorset.Exactly 65 years before, from this shore of Portland Harbour, and in grim contrast to this world-class leisure and recreational development, nearly 1/2 million Allied troops embarked for the D-Day landings in France,

@Juanfrago ...........Well, if you want to live in a fantacey world go right ahead. Shes a bitch, just like all Royals are male or female. She takes and takes and takes. An till i see a Royal serve us, i will not serve them nor will millions of others. They all should be kicked out of power, they are only here for show now, nothing more.

sorry, what kind of socialist world do you live?1- Her Majesty Is the Head of State and as such she is entitled to use the Queen's fleet whenever is needed.2- she pays taxes, along with the nobles and the royal family.3- do you really think that other heads of state such as presidents live with an average wage... WAKE UP.4- She knows and cares for the Kingdom and the commonwealth.5- the Royal family has hundreds of ONG in the UK and abroad.Read more before writing.God save the Queen!!!

I would only agree, if she does the following.1- Pay Tax.2- No more free plane or ship journeys, pay like the rest of us.3- Live on an average wage packet, say £18k a year.4- Stop acting so caring, when in real life, she would not give up any of her wealth for anyone.5- Sale her many homes and give the profits to the poor and low income families.6- Pledge her allegiance to the brave men and women of the armed forces not the other way around or pick up a gun her self.
