Olympic Flag arrives at Portland for Sailing 2012. 24/8/2008
The handover of the Olympics from Beijing to London, Saturday 24th August 2008. 2 flag relays arrive at Portland from Weymouth: One for the Sailing Academy at Osprey Quay, the other at Portland Heights, overlooking Portland Harbour and Weymouth Bay. This is where the Britain's 2012 Olympics sailors will be going for even more gold! Town Mayor Sandy West (ringing the bell) was voted the friendliest person in Britain, winning the national "Hand of Friendship" title in 2009!
